The advantages
Reliable and standards-compliant
fionec’s optical measuring equipment works in compliance with the relevant DIN EN ISO standard. It is possible to perform a profile-based, reproducible evaluation of all recognized and internationally used roughness parameters, such as mean roughness (Ra), roughness depth (Rt) and mean roughness depth (Rz). Automatic signal optimization means the sensor is able to achieve consistent measurement values for heterogeneous, technical surfaces too.
Fast 100-percent testing
With speeds of up to 10 mm/s, the fiber-optic technology measures surfaces ten times faster than comparable tactile measuring devices. High measuring frequencies of up to 20 kHz and the non-destructive nature of the technique make it possible to inspect all items during production – including at production speed. Built-in hardware and software interfaces allow for integration into existing manufacturing processes.
Absolutely contactless
Contactless inspection techniques, such as white light interferometry, are ideal for performing high-precision measurements of microstructures. In contrast with tactile measuring devices, fiber-optic sensors from fionec do not affect or damage the surface of the test specimens. This makes it possible to perform roughness measurements even on delicate objects, such as lenses, wafers and optical flats.
Miniaturized measuring equipment
The FDM Series sensors from fionec offer unparalleled flexibility thanks to their use of miniaturized probes. They make it possible to perform roughness measurements even under difficult circumstances, such as in small drilled holes from 0.1 mm in diameter or on free-form surfaces like the flanks of precision gear wheels.
Maximum precision
fionec’s fiber-optic measuring systems deliver highly accurate, absolute measurement values. The typical standard deviation is just a few nanometers. As such, the data serves as the basis for a reliable quality management system even with extremely tight manufacturing tolerances.
